Roger T Pratt Kobudo An Introduction

We carry Kobudo weapons by Roger T Pratt on our websites. Roger is a Kobudo instructor and friend of my teachers teacher Ernest Estrada Sensei. I have had the honor of training and sparring with him on several occasions when he has visited our dojo. Roger is based out of Jackson michigan and works as part of the goon squad that helps get prisoners that don't want to leave their cells to do so. He has a ton of practical knowledge and is very respected in our area of the world.

Roger makes octagon bo and weapons that are of exquisite quality. He uses rare hardwoods like coco bola and ipe in order to make weapons that really take a pounding and are about the best I have ever seen next to Shureido. If you ever wanted a bo that would really impress the crowds he makes this coco bola bo that has a natural pattern mottle to it that I haven't seen anywhere else before.

Shorin Ryu people love this guy. I think that about says it.

Tesshinkan An Introduction

Donald Shapland's weapons are offered on our website. Here is the introduction I got from him. It outlines what Tesshinkan Kobudo weapons are all about nicely and who could tell you more about them better but himself.

Hajimemashite Kleck San

My name is Donald Shapland and I have recently returned to Chilliwack BC, Canada after living in Okinawa for fifteen years. I practiced Ryukyu Kobudo at Akamine Sensei’s Hombu in Tomigusuku until he died in 1999 and Tamayose Hidemi (one of the senior students) and I started the Tesshinkan.

During my life in Okinawa I was tutored in making Kobudo weapons by several respected old gentlemen. I now produce authentic, quality weapons in a small shop at home.

Kerekemartialarts.com and The Custom Kobudo Weapons

Kereke.com is a group of martial arts suppliers formed by a Shorin Ryu practitioner that wants to make a forum for people within the martial arts to be able to easily put their home made kobudo weapons out on the market.

We are trying to make an avenue here for people to get a hold of the old traditional and more unique weapons that people couldn't otherwise get a hold of. People will notice we also list KWON and Tiger Claw stuff on the websites but those are just there to actually help make the money to keep up the other stuff.

If you hand craft custom and original Kobudo weapons and want us to sell them please contact us at Kerekemartialarts@gmail.com or post a blog about the person you know who does. We only require that these weapons be able to be shipped ups by the provider. We mark up the item we sell for you by $10 so we make some money for the website.

We do ask that your product be of a quality worthy of the price you want for your work. We check out the weapons history and your reputation and will ask to see one of your products if you are not familiar to us or our teachers.

Kerekemartialarts.com is based out of Grand Rapids Michigan and we study under the watch of Ernest Estrada Sensei [8th Dan] who is a student of Shuguro Nakazato Sensei [10th] from Chosen Chibana's line of Okinawan Karate.

We try and provide a professional and clean looking website. Any suggestions or requests are welcome. Feel free to post other comments or questions that are related in this blog.

Respectful posts only please as would be befitting the mutual respect shown by all martial artists.

Welcome and well met...
